Harvest of Hope is a mission
started in 2011 by members of Grace Sunday School Class at
First Baptist Church of Hurricane to provide food for local
needy school children during weekends and holiday breaks throughout the school year.
Volunteers meet in the church's old fellowship hall
kitchen to pack donated food, which is in turn delivered
to the school. The school's guidance counselor
discretely places the food into the children's lockers on
Friday afternoons so they can be sure to have plenty to eat
over the weekend.
Currently, approximately 26 children from 13 families
are being served by this mission outreach.
To volunteer your service or to
provide donations of food for this local mission opportunity, please contact the church office at 304-562-0700,
extension 1.
